Default Fuel Injected B&B

Is anyone running fuel injection on their B&B? If so, where are you running the return line on the stock tank?

Yes,
I am running a 302. My fuel supply line goes up the drivers side of the car and the return line comes back on the passenger side. Both along the main rails. I have the B&B tank in back (an aftermarket polyurethane fuel cell). It has a return line entrance to it. If your tank does not have one, I would run it to the suction side of the pump. If your pump is in-tank, then you will need to punch a hole in the tank somehow. A small bit of welding would be required here.
Hope this helps,
Darren

Tom:

I am running a EFI setup. The return line goes along the passenger side too. # 8 AN line aka a garden hose with braided stuff over the top I spent the better part of 2 days under the car taking out the old fuel line and running the new. Attached the line near the same spots that the battery line is attached to zip ties are wonderful. Lots more options to fuel injection now than 3 years ago. My fuel pump is an external one what a job to get that sumB%&ch mounted! Had to cut a hole in the top of the fuel cell to put in the mounting plate for the return line to go into. I believe the fuel cell has a place aready in it but you just have to cut it out. Call Brian or Barry to find out the name of the manufacturer of the fuel cell. The company makes a setup to mount a return line in was worth the $$. Give me a call at work 502-896-2999 x112 and go over the stuff with you.

J.A.,

Where did you end up putting the fuel pump? I am going with a carbed engine, but it does not have an eccentric, so I am just going to go with an electric pump.

Tom:

First we had to make a bracket for the fuel pump to mount to because the section of the frame was not wide enough to accomidate the wideth o fthe pump. Nice piece of 1/4 plate steel ARGH!! We mounted it on the frame piece that makes up the trunk. I think we used the same bolt hole that fastens the fuel cell down so as not to drill any unnecessary holes. God knows I did enough of that in other places You have to remember my fuel pump is made to accomidate cars 400-1200 horsepower. This was the only fuel pump that would power the 40lb fuel injectors in the motor. It is made by Aeroquip via Summitt. If you look under the car just in front of the pumpkin you can see the pump and the bracket. You can hear the pump come on right before ignition. Hope this helped.

J.A.
can u tell me the Summit part number on the pump?
my motor chewed us its second fuel pump and i think the $100 eccentric i got from Fomoco is the culprit. I am going to pitch the pump and put a block plate and go electric. I have an 800cfm Holley double pumper to feed.
thanks
tommy

Thomas:

Part number is AEI-11101. I think they had it around $ 289. Check Jegs but I bet you the price will be very close. Hope you got some garden hoses hooked up to the carberator cuz that pump really puts out the pressure. I had put a fuel pressure regulator mounted to the back fire wall with at pressure guage on the front to help monitor fuel pressure. I keep it around 32-34 lbs even though the fuel injectors are 40lbs John Bennett said I could get away with that and not hurt the motor for most of the driving I do. But when its performance time I bump up the pressure makes things a little rich but better to rich than to lean Hope this helped.

J.A.

BTW: Tom how is you project coming?
