Default Wilwood Brakes - rear

Hello,

I'm close to a brake upgrade and am leaning strongly towards Wilwoods all around. I'm fairly certain the fronts are

140-7017-D (4 piston, vented, drilled) or 140-7018D for 6 piston

However, I'm not positive of the correct part number for the rear. Has anyone installed the rear Wilwoods? I think the correct part is 140-7146-D (4 piston, includes parking brakes assembly, vented, drilled)

Also, I know there is talk of a group buy but .... I'm ready for a change now. The best price I've found is at www.hotrodsusa.com (~$1500 for both axles). They include a proportioning valve, SS lines, free shipping, emergency brake cable kit, brake fluid, free use of safety wire pliers. Anyplace else that might have a better deal?

thanks.

Mike

Hey Mike,

I was dealing with a place called precision brake company.

I don`t recall the price I paid, but I have the superlite in the front and Billet Dynalite Caliper in the rear.

The rotor are slotted and driller with 13 in front and 11 3/4 rear

Nice choice on the 6 piston Superlites -- I'd love to have them but they are out of my budget.

Also, thanks for the lead on Precision Brake. From their website it looks like their prices are about the same as HotRods but don't include the free stuff. I think they do have a better return policy though.

Would you happen to have the part number for the rear kit you ordered? The application guide on the Wilwood site lists "small ford, big ford, big ford - new style, or Ford 8.8 - five lug (thru 1998)"

I think its the 8.8 five lug but ... would hate to get the wrong item.

thx.

Mike

Hey Mike,

Sorry I do not have a part number but I have a contact there.

His name is Billy Mullin 1-866-992-7253.

If you want asking to pull my invoice to get the same kit.

The calipers in the fron are not the 6 piston they are the 4 piston superlites. They explain to me that there would be no benifits with the 6 unless you were road racing

What rear and front are you using?

Also, if you send me an email I could send you some pics of the kit.
