Default Seat Installation

Those of you with B&B's that have blazed the trail before me, what is the generally accepted way of mounting the seats? Summit has seat rails/brackets that allow for adjustment. (SUM-G1153) I think I need this because my wife is saying she will drive this thing too. That isn't all bad because it is becoming "our" car instead my "expensive new hobby". I was just going to mount the passenger seat to the floor. You guys know how thick the board on the bottom of the seat is? Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob, the seats will bolt right into the frame rails that is what the seat sits on, so drill and tap and put 4 3/8 bolts through the bottom of the fiberglass seat and then into the frame, as for mounting seat tracks B&B sells the track but keep in mind that this will raise the seat up 1 1/2 inchs.

i used the summit brand rails ,had to drill out the studs so i could bolt threw the seat. now i think i'm going to take the driver side out so i dont have to look through the top of the windscreen .

Thanks, PM. I am not tall so I don't think the seat rails will put me over the windscreen.

I used adjustable rails on the driver's side and the seat is difficult to move. I need it all the way back and my wife (5' 6") is fine from there with the little bit she drives. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't mess with the rails and bolt as Karen suggests. I also suggest that you drill and slot the holes for the seats. Use fender washers. This will allow plenty of adjustment for you. You will need it to get things right.
