Default Transmission Mount for Small Block B&B Please??

I bought a 2530 Anchor Trans mount from Oreilly for my 351/Tremec. When installed it looked very "tall". The drive line angle looked excessive. Clois Harlan measured his mount and it is 1.5 inched tall. My 2530 is 2.75 inches tall. I went back to Oreilly and the counter man found a 2287 that is for a V-8 Grenada. It is 1.5 inches tall but is made from lighter material and is not as substantial. The angle is much better with this one but I am concerned it is not strong enough. Please search your memory and let me know what transmission mount you used on your B&B with a Small Block. I will post a picture of the two if I can. I think you can see which one is which. I would appreciate some feedback from you B&B trailblazers. Which transmission mount did you use.

Sorry, the transmission mount that I think might not be strong enough is Anchor 2253. (The other number above is a motor mount) Bob

Default Trans Mount

I actually used a taller mount as well. I built some 1" solid block shims and lowered the transmission crossover member, worked great.

2351 is the wrong one. the little one 2253 is the one i used and it has'nt failed yet. only 600 miles though. I used good motor mounts , they take most of the torque anyway.

Use the short one. There isn't that much torque on the trans mount. You will be fine. If your angle is not right on, you will have serious problems.

I can't believe you need to ask these questions with Clois around! I thought he knew EVERYTHING!

He does know everything and told me the lower one is the right one. I was just wondering if the lower one I have is the "right" lower one! Clois is a great guy and helped me put the engine in yesterday.

For the record the 2253 is the one to use from Anchor. Prothane model is 6-1605-BL.
