Default Side pipes are on.....

Pics in my gallery. I made some gaskets (who could have guessed that) to fit the header flange. If this is your first time, cut the hole SMALL first.
The B&B hole was correct on the front side but about a 1/2 inch off on the rear side. Fortunuatley it was off too small.

Believe me, your gonna have to make them quite a bit larger. I cut mine out as small as possible and found there is a lot of movement in the passenger side. I ended up making it about 3/4" space all around the sidepipe to body clearance.

Is there supposed to be fiberglass underneath the sidepipes or is it just a cutout? is it an "O" or an upsidedown "U" shaped hole? I haven't gotten a good look at them yet.

joey_hv
On mine it is a notch or upside down "U".

I have run the engine and it didn't dseen to interfer with the body. Is driving the car going to make mine hit the body? I did mount the rear connection in a rubber isolated bolt to make some room for movement.

driving uses more torque so it will twist more.I keep cutting more and more off.mine could be a hole but a u shape makes it easier to take the pipes off. Also heat from the pipes can burn paint if cut to close.

I had the body man over yesterday and he said they were too close. Man and tried to get it as close as possibile! He sadi it would probably be bad for the paint. I run it for about ten minutes and those pipes do get hot.

I ran mine with about 1/4" tollerance and they hit hard. It even smashed the edge a little, but luckily didn't bend the pipes. I made a cut and then another HARD start, and it hit again. I took the advise of several CC members and made mine with 3/4" clearance. It looks better this way after all. (In my opinion)
