Default Aluminum radiators

I know there have been posts earlier about the price of the aluminum radiators but I just received mine on Saturday. I spent most of Sunday swapping the brass one for the aluminum but it was hot and I don't work fast in the heat. All I can say is that it went in like a champ. My only problem was that the lower radiator outlet was slightly larger than old one so I had to go buy a six inch peice of radiator hose. I had to drill the holes and put nut serts in so that I could reuse my old fan. It was well worth the money not to have to chase around getting one fabricated. Thank you Karen and Barry for getting this done for me. Chas

PS I was able to run in my garage for 15 minutes and the temperature never went over 85 degrees C (185 F). Chas

How much lighter is the aluminum over the brass?

I don't know. The aluminum radiator plus the packing was 24 lbs. I don't have a scale to compare the difference. Chas

I weighed both my new aluminum radiator and the custom brass one I took out and I saved 17#s. I'd read a fairly extensive report before the change out that made the contension that the aluminum would make very little difference in cooling. I did it since my old radiator was leaking and I wanted to save some weight off the nose. Just my experience.
