Power Brakes
Has anyone installed power brakes on thier B&B. If so how and what make. Thanks for any input.

I'm not answering you question, but my car stops well with the 11 inch non power brakes. Maybe you need power brakes for some reason but if you are just buildling your car I would check into this more before you go to the expense.

This winter I converted from 1960's Jaguar power assisted brakes to non-power Wilwood calipers and masters. I think the Wilwood set up is much better. These cars are 2000 lbs give or take so power is not vital. I have driven SPF with power, they are great just more sensitive.

power brakes
Cobras are very light and I really don't see a need for power brakes. I used the Wilwood 11" rear brake asssembly that bolts right to the ford axle and has a built in parking brake. Speedway part #835-1406696. For the front went with the 11" granada rotors, and adapter bracket from heidts and the same wilwood calipers used on the rear. Stops great. Only modification was to put a brake modulator in line to proportion more of the power to the front wells. Pics and details in my gallery.

Racer 1 i know what u mean because th peddle is so hard to push.the brakes stop but with a lot of effort. I bought a mini cooper with willwood brakes an stopping in that car pulls the fillings out of your teeth. when i find an extra 1000 bucks ill throw a set of willwoods on my car.Duke You are happy with your setup?

I changed to the Wilwoods from the stock Ford set up. I didn't like the feel and I liked the idea of the built in parking brake. The Wilwood set up suits me fine and I have had no problems. I put in a proportioning valve, thinking I would need it. I probably could have gone without it.

If you were going to pick one to upgrade, would you do the front or back first? I have stock GM style disks currently.

Since 60-70% of the braking is accomplished with the fronts, I would certainly go there first. Consider the proportioning valve if you're going to mix systems. You don't want to create a situation where you can't get the right balance. I would also recommend that you call Wilwood and tell them what you want to do and get their expert adivce on the mix of systems. They are good folks and they are the experts not me.
