Default Drag racing only

wfieldin I have only used electric water pumps for drag racing only. You are only going to save about 3-5 HP by driving the pump off the motor. Most electric pumps are good for about 1K hours before rebuilding. You can get an Edelbrock Aluminium water pump that weights less, setup a set of pulleys from March and have a real nice setup. Kirkham sells a better set of machined pulleys for a cobra. You have to watch when you go to underdriven pulleys and have a radiator that can't handle a worked out motor. Big or Small block. You are still going to need a belt for the Alt for charging.Stay with a 1-1 drive for the crank to waterpump or get an overdrive system which works better on the hot 100+ temp days. Rick Lake

Electric water pumps are quite useless for the STREET.

Been using mine for 1 1/2 years with NO problems here in HOT and SUNNY Florida... Love the unique look, quiet operation and the fact that I can change out the motor if needed within 5 mins (haven't had to). I can also circulate coolant w/o the motor running for quicker cool downs while at the track too....

Pictures in the gallery.
