BDR "Cobra" badging survey
Hi guys, I am the new owner of a BRD "Black Label" edition and I am just curious to how many of you guys with BDRs decided to put "Cobra" badges/emblems on your cars or not, and where you put them if at all.
I have seen quite a few photos of BDRs with them but also a lot without. Since the BDRs come with no "Cobra" emblems either on the fender sides or on the trunk or nose I am trying to ldecide if I want to put any Cobra badging there or leave the car as BDR intended it and forego the usual/expected "Cobra" badging all over the car in the "expected" (by the general publilc at least) places.
I am leaning towards NOT placing any "Cobra" emblems/badges on my BDR car as it is a unique enough auto in and of itself as a "Backdraft Roadster" and I do not really think of it as a "kit/replica of a Shelby car. But I would love to get some feedback from other owners and their reason for whatever they did, or did not, do in this regard.
Thanks, Don
(P.S. I know my avatar member car info has a CMC/Street Beast Cobra shown/described but that is because I own that frame up build car also and have not yet updated my member file with photos and info on the new BDR car I just bought.)

We probably will not hold this against you.
I have not badged yet. My paint is so FUBARed from driving, that I want to repaint before I put them on.

BDR should supply their own type emblems. I like it
when a company dispays their badges instead of using Shelby stuff.
FFR has a great looking badge. There was even a thread here about ERA designs and they looked really good. ERA should definitely make those badges. There are several other manufacturers that have their own badging. I wish the owners would use them. Then I don't have to ask "Who's kit is it?"

I just took ownership of my BDR # 866 about a week ago. I did put the cobra emblems on the deck lids and I did use the Cobra 427 badges on the front fenders. Just a personal choice for me. I love the way they look and they go well with my paint and pin stripe design.

No badges for mine. My wife when given the option actually preferred it without the Cobra emblems. I agree with Hersh BDR badges for the hood and trunk would be nice to have.

Gee Hersh, you lost the hat.
I agree with the front and back only idea.

I like the idea of displaying the BDR badges but I also like identifying my car as a Cobra "tribute." Currently I display the Cobra badge on hood, trunk and steering wheel with a "427" badge on the side to identify the body style, not the engine. I could see a combination of both if the BDR badges were done well.

Hi Dave Still got the hat. I didn't have the old photo avatar so I used that one. That would be like losing my badges.

Don.
I didn't go with any badges on mine. I've got the AC center caps on the wheels and an AC Cap on the steering wheel, but that's it so far. I like the clean look, but I've also been toying with the idea of at least putting some emblems over the side vents.
Congrats on the new wheels! Look forward to seeing some pics.

I dont have any badges either. But the JBL shape is noticeably different than "original" therefore I think it looks better without any. I do like them on originals and the few cars out there that are successfully designed to look like an original.
It is interesting how many folks are upset if you have the side badge that says "427" and you dont really have a 427 engine in there. When I had the ERA with an original 427 SO, some random guy would come up to me at a show or gas station and say "do you really got a 427 in that thang?". When I told them yes they sort of ran out of questions and moved along

I put the Cobra badges on the trunk and front panel. Also placed one on the steering wheel when I replaced the wheel with a 15" Moto-Lita. I like the way it looks. FinishLine accessories gave me the exact placement info on my receipt so I knew where to put them. I also removed the back pins and used 2 sided 3M moulding tape to install them. No drilling and cleaner look and easy to remove if I decide to do so. Bob Q.
