Default Tire replacement

It's getting to that time when I have to think about replacing the tires on my BDR. running 235/60/15 F, 295/60/15 R. BF Goodrich T/A's. Tires on the front are in good shape but will need rears soon. Would like to keep the same profile but BFG does not make 295/60/15's any more. Any thoughts on going to a 50 series on the rear, don't want to break to bank. I drive year round street only.

I would suggest looking at the Cooper Cobra tires. They have some different sizes available, but unfortunately, the 15" tires are very limited on the sizes available.

Take a look at a full set of Mickey thompson S/R radials. They have the 15 " sizes and flame tread design that looks great.
In addition, they are very sticky giving you excellent road handling abilities. I've had my set for 3 years and still work well and have demonstrated good wear.
I have friend that had TA's and just bought a set of Mickey's and just loves them, he said his cobra has never handled this good.

Good Luck, Bill

Rich:

My car was running the 295/50-15 R tires from BFG and I had no problems. Took the BFG's off to run GY Sportscar Specials so they are just sitting in my basement.

The set has 8K on them and there is plenty of thread left. You can have the entire set (235/60-15 F , 295/50-15 R) for around the cost of two rears if you would like them. Let me know and I'll get you some photos so you can see the tread depth. I don't think I'll be using them.

- Allen.
