Any of you Backdraft guys ever need a top? I figure the top is a waste of time.

I would wager that a LARGE majority of the guys who have them never use them. We have some SPF guys in our group that in three years have never put them up. From what I understand if it's raining and you have to put it up with no overhead protection,by the time it's up you might as well have gone on down the road.

I use my top quite a bit in the summer months. The sun can be brutal and give you quite a sunburn in Fl. without a top. The shade is nice.

I use my hardtop alot.
It keeps the sun from beating down on my interior.
It's different from all the other cobras that park next to me
It make the car sound louder from inside
The shade is nice [I'm bald] and my hat seldom stays on.
Had to make a deal with my wife-- ok, remove the top a little more often and I get to put meatballs on the car. [she says it takes away the sex appeal and looks too much like a race car!!!!!!! I can't lose on this one.

Tops are gaining in sales for the sun protection... up here it also extends driving by about 30 days a year, maybe more.

Sold that consignment car today.

If you do by a used try to stay above ~200 build number. There were some major improvements made after that.

A top can always be added later if yo find that you need it.

I have a superformance and I have the tonneau cover in the trunk, it would offers some protection from the rain until you found cover. My top has never been out of the leather bag, I assueme it is in there, guess I should check. You will have zero heat problems from the foot wells of either a SPF or BDR, in fact SPF has vents piped into the footwells, pretty cool. They ran ductwork from the openings in the front by the quick jacks back to passenger compartment. Half the time I forget to close them and my heater is on LOL!!! I would opt for a heater!! I use mine all the time from Nov thru Feb.
