Default Gas Pedal

Hi, new to BDR ownership. My car (#88)'s gas pedal has a very long travel & the return is very weak, even with 2 springs on the carb. Was there a change to the gas pedal/throttle cable design in later cars?

Any help is appreciated.

My guess is you ought to move the ball joint on the carb throttle arm to a spot closer in to the shaft. That would shorten your gas pedal travel. You may need a stronger spring(s) as well. Try moving where the cable connects to the carb throttle arm 1st.

Don't forget to make sure you have a pedal stop as well...adjusting so the floor/firewall is a stop is OK.

6t8stang-

How do I do that? The pedal is mounted on the trans tunnel, I'm not sure how to build in a stop off the firewall.

But the travel on my pedal is way too long. So to get WOT, I need to figure out how to shorten the entire throttle operation.
