I love the concept of that engine. I'm hoping you get 600hp!

They are saying it is a monster. Revs to almost 8000 rpm!

Backdraft RT3B #1226 - Ford Racing 5.0 Coyote XS - Dyno Run - YouTube

A new video of #1226 getting its dyno action on.

You can also go to Vintages youtube page and find it.

466 rwhp should snap a neck back pretty good!

Just posting an update. The car is being finished up this week. Hopefully be on its way to me next week. We have had weather problems as of late that have put things off. Jay and the guys are working getting the top finished and fitted and then just a few odds and end and detail should do it. It has been a long road but a great ride. Only regret is that my Dad will never get to see the car. He passed away last week losing his battle with colon cancer. He did get to see the cars pics/vids on the Vintage site which he loved. Jay is putting the #65 on the car in remembrance of him as that was his age when he passed away. It will be an emotional time when the car is delivered I'm sure. Anyway he will be with me in spirit when my son and I take our first drive!!

The top is coming together. I got some quality time in on it today. The changes we made are looking really good as it goes back together on and on the car.

Really it's just finessing stuff now. Oh and the Sat radio hookup

Jay, you know I have to keep you on your toes! BTW ,Micheal (my son) and I have been discussing doing a GT40 next. I'm afraid after this Cobra you will not even take my calls to do another car!

Condolences Todd...glad to see the time is near for the new arrival though, soon enough the weather will break and the experience will come full circle. When I got my first car it was delivered in Feb (with no top I might add) and I drove it with full gear on (hat, gloves etc...). People looked at me like I was insane, which may not be that far from the truth but it was still fun...then...it actually hit 70 degrees with sunshine one day...that's when I "got it".

Best of luck, keep us posted...all hail PLYCAR

Thanks Gary. We are looking at some 50 degree weather in the near future. Ill take that over what we have had. I bet you are really ready for some spring/summer weather to get your beast out

Your car being done is very good news for me also, I know your build has been going on for about a year… I'm thrilled your car is complete so Jay can concentrate on my new build lol. (Vintage got the engine and transmission Delivered this week) By the way I ended up going with the Ford racing 427 again. Keep us updated. Enjoy!

Thank you Anthony. I'm sure Jay and Brian will be just as excited to see it go as you are. What number is your build so I can watch? Did you already sell you original Backdraft or do you still have it?

I traded my last car (#1012 on jays site) to my cousin for a 1967 vette this past Summer. My new car is supposed to be #1307 but Jay told me today I might be getting #1292. (Same color) The paint on the passenger door of my last car wasn't the greatest (it wasn't BAD I'm just really picky) so I made sure Jay had the guys in Florida handpick this one so I got the best paint job between the two cars they had available

Black and sliver is an awesome combo. What are you doing different this time than last? I'm sure you learned a lot having already had one.

Black with silver wasn't my first choice but I was anxious to get my car by spring so Out of the inventory that was available black/silver was the best bet. My last car was indigo blue with white stripes and I really didn't want to get the same color again. I love your color combination and I really like sterling gray with silver stripes but I wouldn't have taken delivery till summer. As far as doing things Different, I almost duplicated my last car with just a few performance tweaks, LSD, better transmission, and I upgraded to the Holly Terminator EFI. I was really happy with my last car, again the only reason I got rid of it is because I was trying to buy my cousins corvette for four years and he fell in love with my BDR and was willing to do a trade. Spoke with Jay yesterday and he said I got #1292 it's on his way to vintage now, engine and transmission are already there so my car should be ready in about a month

That is good news. I know you are excited to get it underway. Are you doing a black out car or staying with chrome? I don't blame you on wanting to get it going as fast as possible. The wait is killer! At least you have a corvette to drive while you wait!

Well, if mother nature will give us a little break I may actually get the car next week. Suppose to be getting detailed tomorrow. Then she will be ready to go.
To say we are excited would be a huge understatement. Jay is going to do a lot of pics and videos once it is detailed so looking forward to seeing those! So, if everything goes well should be an awesome week.

Getting closer!!

Default Great times following your thread/build

Todd, do you know how easy it is to remove the window doors from the top frame? For BDR, would be great to incorporate a quick release, store them in the trunk and drive around with T-tops when desired...

Looks like 2 hinges on each door. I'm sure Jay could better answer your question as I have not seen the top in the flesh myself.
