Default suggestions on converting to positraction

Presently my car does not have limited slip differential, it is running 346 gears (BMW 3 series). I'm thinking i would like to change it to Positraction rear end. Any suggestions on the best way to go about this? Thanks

What do u mean by "best way to go about this"?
1. U can always find a used limited slip e36 diff on Ebay.
2. diffsonline.com - Custom Geared BMW LSD Differentials

Are you asking best way or least expensive way? What engine and trans do you have?

Default limited slip rear-end

I have the Roush 427r (550hp/Carb) with Tremec 5-speed trans.. Your right, probably the easiest route or cheapest route would be to pick up a good/rebuilt 3rd member and just switch it out! Going prices appear to be around $1,000.00 for a good unit.

It's easy on the car, just jack the car up and turn the rear wheels, if they don't both turn the same way at the same time, probably not a positraction! If your only looking at a 3rd member out of a rear end casing and your trying to determine if it's a positraction, you can basically do the same thing as if the casing was together on the car, you can insert the rear axles on both sides and see if they turn the same way at the same time or probably just turn the front yoke on the housing and watch the side yokes or axles turn! Hope this helps..
