Default Wheels

This may be a dumb question,but it is one I forgot to ask when my new car
was delivered last week. Who makes our 18" wheels? Also,has anyone found
center pieces with the Cobra logo other then the 1-3/8" stick ons that are
out there?

I just purchased from Backdraft the new style 18" wheels. I also removed the spindles from the car and machined a place to put the stick on cobra decals I got from Finish Line. They look great and do not extend past the front of the spindle. The biggest problem I have been having is with tires for the 18" wheels. No problem with the front but finding a tire larger than 295/35r18 has been a problem. The tires I removed from the 17" wheels were 315/35/r17 and worked great. I was told that the worlds worst tire is made by Falkin. Don't know but I sure prefer Michelin. The 335/35/r18 Michelin will rub without modifications to the rear suspension. I just wish to drive on the street so this is not a good option for me. The Nitto tires I was told by Nitto will not hold up for daily driving as they are drag/street radials. As they heat up the tread is removed rapidly. Don't need that headache.

The new 3 piece 18x12 wheels or a set of 18x11 wheels like the 17"ers you removed?

For tires try BFG Rivals. You can only get them from Tirerack....

I am running the 18's with the 335 PS2's and I have not had any rubbing yet. I do run a lot of negative camber though. I also run the 335 Nitto DR's and they seem to be more rounded at the corners and tuck in better.

Depends when the rims were made. About 4 months ago a different rear entered production and they sit further outboard.

Thanks Jay for putting up with all my questions. I took your information and purchased from Tire Rack the Pirelli tires. I found the diameter of the P Zero Russo 315/30/ZR18 and the 245/40/ZR18 is within 3 tenths of an inch difference. So I broke the budget and ordered them. Got a super price from Tire Rack though.

Awesome! BTW there was a post above about the BFG Rivals from Tire Rack, they problem they tend to have is sizings and stock for those.

Jay, do they sit farther outboard because of a new Rim offset or is it the rear end pushes the rear wheels out more. If the Rims are a new offset, I better grab me another set of rear rims before they are not available anymore in the older offset...
