You can ask Backdraft for warranty replacement, which they won't do. But they will offer you an upgrade to the new style pipes.

Or you can make window cuts in the pipe and re-tack the baffles and then weld it closed and ceramic coat the whole thing.

Has anyone addressed their BDR pipes lately reference the less than desirable sound? I got my car pretty well setup to my liking except for the pipes and trying to decide the next course of action. I know ours are a few inches longer than others so aftermarket ones are out. I'm assuming our only recourse is cutting out the baffle area and finding a suitable baffle to weld in. Anyone tried or accomplished that?

Just looking for new ideas or recent solutions

Thanks
Akm

The simplest and probably best solution is to build new pipes to meet your specifications, then paint them with high heat paint or have them ceramic coated.

Ordered my car 2 weeks ago, hopefully this problem has been fixed but i will keep it on my list of what to keep an eye on when i get the car. Any other issues i should watch out for. I know the older windshields were prone to crack but Jay said the newer windshields are less prone to cracking but missing big potholes is the best preventive maintenance. Member posts also seem to show an issue with the rear taillights burning out. Any advice on the car and or driving it would be much appreciated. Im not a know it all and look forward to the advice from the backdraft owners. Thanks
