Default Backdraft Coyote questions

Backdraft recommends that you use synthetic oil after you have 1,000 miles
on your car. Can someone tell me why this is the case? Also, how many quarts
are needed when changing oil and filter?
Much thanks

block honing process for cylinder walls creates horizontal "grooves" this is necessary to hold oil. Theory is synthetic is to slippery and instead of the cylinder walls wearing in / taking the peaks off the grooves the synthetic is to slippery to wear in and it rolls/smears the peaks over and the rings never seat. I would give it 10k miles, that being said with all today advances in engine manufacturing I am sure the bit OEM have overcome this issue.

It is dependent on the engine. Once you know what your engine is then go with what the engine builder/manufacturer says, NOT with what Backdraft says.

No one can tell you what type of oil, what type of filter or how much oil without you first providing what your engine setup is (stock 5.0 pan, dry sump, etc, etc. Once you know what your engine setup is then go with what the engine builder says, NOT with what Backdraft says.

Backdraft doesn't build or install engines, so anything they state about engines is pretty damn irrelevant.
