Tires...what are you running?
My Backdraft has a set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on it. They only have about 5,000 miles on them, but are ten years old. Apparently when new they were made of banana skins and have not gotten any better with age. Well, that was a little harsh. I remember when these tires were one of the right answers, but Lordy, that was a LONG time ago. What are you running in 2015? Wait, let me give you enough info to answer...I am a 50 year old responsible citizen that has been a car guy since age 14 when I got my first car, a 1966 Mustang. I am not a racer anymore. I drive pretty easy these days but still require decent stickiness as well as a high speed rating because even at my advanced age I still bend to peer pressure and have to put the spurs to the car now and again largely at my friends requests. Tread life is not really that important...this is just a toy. I don't have a top or windows, so wet weather performance is not really a consideration for me. So what is working for you?

BFG's are dangerous............. too hard for these buggies.....
I run G7's in rear and Powercushion up front.

BF Goodrich Radial T/A originally came on on my Superformance (SP01400) and have not had a problem as of yet 2k miles and 12 years old.
Front 255/60 15
Rear 275/60 15

Once you drive it on some newer, decent tires you will realize what lack of grip you have had all along!

Agreed on the tire age question, that is why I was asking. (and I wish all muscle car guys would watch the dates, because many of them put so few miles on their cars every year and before you know it the tires are ten years old but look new!) My wife was saying, "They look brand new, why are you going to buy new tires?". My answer? "Because I love you".

Age vs milage
I thought I'd check to see if my 2004 BDR had the original tires .... yup. Their in beautiful condition however 15 years old is a bit much especially at 100+ They will get changed out next week. Have BF Goodrich TA's but am thinking about Cooper's.

Mickey ST are great and if your still running 12 year old tires I'd be more worried about the age of the tire than the miles.

I'm running Mickey Thompson ST's.
255/60-15 front
295/50-15 rear
I've used them for a little autocrossing and they seem to work fine at my skill level.

tires
When I got the car it (still has)
245x x17 f 9" w rims
335/35x17 Dunlap 7000's on the rear on 12" w rims getting down to marginal tread
Can't find replacements for the rear.
