Well, congrats on finding the solution to your problem. I admire the openness that you show in sharing what might be an embarrassing aspect in posting it. I had the same ignorance about the hi/low beam switch location on my car as the "owner's manual" does not provide such information. I doubt that there is anything available (like a shop manual) for the BDR RT3. If there is, I would be in line with you to buy a copy.

Before you found the switch, what were you hitting to make you think the lo beams were coming on?

I was simply piling the lights on switch on the dash. I thought position 1 was for low beams and position 2 was high beams. I was thinking the entire time that only my high beams were working.

Reviving an old thread. I have an early 2018 model Backdraft. Both headlights work perfect on low-beam, but only one headlight work on high-beam. I have replaced the bulbs and same thing, therefore it is not the bulb. The high-beam fuse is fine. I ruled out the relay because one headlight does work on high-beam. Any other suggestions how to troubleshoot this?

I'd start at the connector on the back of the effected headlight.
Make sure the spade connectors are locked in the plastic plug and not getting shoved out the back when you attach it to the headlight.

Using a Multi-meter see if you have a good ground on the ground pin spade connector in the plug. (Doubtful this is an issue since the Hi-Low beans usually use the same ground circuit.)

Using the Meter again, check for 12vdc at the High beam spade pin.
The High and Low beam wiring is usually daisy chained so you could have a bad connection at the Functioning headlight plug or where the harness is split to go to the Left-Right headlights.

The Backdraft wiring diagrams on the early cars are severely lacking. They may have switched from Crayon on the newer cars diagrams, but I have not seen one.

spdbrake. Thanx for the tips. I did use my multimeter and determined that the spade connector for the high-beam wire (White for Backdrafts), were receiving 12V power. Therefore the connection inside the plug should be the issue. I plugged it back in firmly and the problem is resolved!
