High Back Seats
I much prefer a high back seat, both for comfort and safety. Are there any off the shelf seats that fit Fairly easily?

We've used Tillett. You can also order some from Factory.

From the factory? Interesting, as I didn't see anything about that. I'd rather do that, if it's a good seat. I'd like to get the tan interior (goes well with red). Can you get a tan high back seat from the factory?

The term "sticks out like a sore thumb" comes to mind. Trying to make one of these cars safer or more comfy seems like a slippery slope to me. I can't imagine any mod I could do to make me good for more than an hour or two before I gotta park somewhere and stretch the legs. I suggest you keep your old seats for a while to see if the new ones grow on ya. Just something to consider.

Thanx. Not a bad looking seat, but not what I'm looking for, either. No slots for the shoulder belts. Looks like a recovered Tillet seat.

Without a matching roll bar, I would agree. But center that on a roll bar, and it fits. My car will have two roll bars.
Increasing safety for the little things like this are easy, and should not be (IMO) ignored. I had a car with low back seats, and I'll never do it again. I'v seen passengers bounce their head off the seat during a hard launch; I don't want to see that again. And getting rear ended could be a life altering experience.
My previous car had Club Cobra seats. I found them to be very comfortable, and easy to get in and out of. I'll probably go with them again. The high backs also deflect some of the wind turbulance. And - probably most important - my wife likes to sleep in the car on long trips. She needs to be comfortable.
Comfort should not be ignored. If you have an uncomfortable seating position, it will distract you. And you won't enjoy driving it. Obviously, it's never going to be a Caddy. Moving the seat, pedals, steering wheel, or shifter only an inch can make a huge difference. Motorcycle riders know this. Spend the time making the car comfortable and fit you just right it will really pay off in the long run.

Have these installed in a Superformance.
FX1 Pro - Fixed Back Seats - Corbeau Racing Seats
Comfortable on very long drives and plenty of support for track and autocross

I made my concessions to comfort. Power steering and a heater, seats tilted back made a big difference. In a crash, you're screwed lol. It's just physics. (I did pad my roll bar) I'm sure there are Hi backs that look ok, I've just seen some what were they thinking examples. Best wishes to you.

Floor mounted direct to existing seat frame cross members. The adapters between seat and frame are custom made. Couldn't utilize seat adjustment tracks, no room. The FX1 pro just barely fits a Superformance.
Love the seats. Only compliant I have is the seat fabric fades from sun exposure

I have used the high back and the standard size seats. For myself, having a seat back higher than the roll bar is of no use. If the car goes over (Heaven forbid) the triangle effect of the roll bar and the front fenders will protect me. The car itself makes so much exhaust noise when driving, they are to busy watching the car to worry about being rear ended. I ended up making seats to fit my body. They are low backs, finished in black leather with orange piping. Very comfortable, and form fitting.

I went with Pro-Car seats(Rally1000). It would have been nice to know about the Backdraft seats when I was looking for mine. Are they on their web site now?

I attended the Daytona Beach Turkey Run this holiday weekend and stumbled upon a Cobra with highback seats. Here's a picture.

I replaced the seats in my West Coast Cobra with a pair from a Honda Civic Del Sol. IIRC, measurements indicated I had 19" of width to work with, and the Del Sol seats fit - barely. I'm told seats meant for Lotus cars (e.g. Elise, Exige) will fit as they're narrow as well. Seats for Mazda Miata may work.
Part of the issue is obviously whether they fit in the car, another is whether they fit you. I really like the Del Sol seats - they fit well and are quite comfortable, plus I found them locally and the price was dirt cheap. Win, win, win - but that doesn't mean they'll fit the next guy.

When I was still looking and collecting info I saw a Cobra that had high back seats from a small Mercedes 2 seater. I don't know which one. That might be another option as they looked really nice.
