The company that provided my T56 Magnum recommended Amsoil Synthetic product code ATFQT.

Unless specifically recommended by the builder, you are better off going with regular old Dex III.
Here is a pretty decent discussion on the issue and a lot of links to various other articles:

Straight from the TREMEC website - Probably a good idea to ask them since they're the ones that invested all that money in designing, building and testing the thing...
Transmission fluid is the life blood of your transmission. Proper wear and synchronization depends on using correct fluid. DO NOT USE aftermarket fluid in this transmission. Use only GM Synchromesh (part# 12345349), Pennzoil Synchromesh or Mobil1 ATF. Any other fluid used may cause premature wear and grinding synchronizers and will VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
NOTE: You can use standard Dexron III ATF for break-in, but it must be drained after the break-in period and replaced with Synchromesh or Mobil1 ATF as your permanent fluid.

Not what I am reading off their website:
Q: What type of fluid does TREMEC recommended?
A: For all TKO 5-speed models, TREMEC recommends GM Synchromesh™ (GM Part # 88861800) – or equivalent, or Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. For all other aftermarket models we recommend Dexron III ATF
Section 1-1-3 in the T56 Tremec Service Manual also says use Dex III. The OP does not say what T56 he has. Older ones react negatively to synthetic fluid and can eat the blocker rings.

I think I heard that was from the transmission housing castings. Tremec is having the transmissions made in China and the castings are crap. After you torque it for a while, the trans case will twist.
