Default Turn signal

Guys, Just purchase a turn signal from Iconic parts, turned up without the multi wire connector which my car and their site shows it should come with, unfortunately none of the wires are the same colour, but that isn't the real pain in the but, the unit has a opening of approx. 32mm but the steering column looks to be about 24mm, I've tried various pipe fittings but got close with some reticulation bits but still rubbish fit, the plastic cover which goes from the dash to the back of the steering wheel also is not compatible with the unit," A quality Unit" as listed on Iconics parts site I might add!!!, what car is it actually supposed to fit ?? cos it ain't a backdraft roadster, my self cancelling pin wont even let the unit fit squarely over the unit, I just Spent over $600 AUS dollars getting it here with the outrageous postage I only got the part cos my indicators only work on left turn and the headlights don't flash as well as the original lever feeling like its made of egg shell...Has anyone else got some info on installation or shall I just stick me arms out when I wanna go round corners!!!
PS my car is # 1095 if that helps

I thought they we just vintage (1966 VW bug) turn signals. What happened to the original one? just an FYI...mine was acting funny 8 -9 years ago, took it off, cleaned it up (contacts gummed up with old lube), lube it with white lithium grease...been working fine since that time. BDR #260
