On my car the weight is distributed 5050 front to rear, With 200# in the driver seat. It weighs about 100# more on left side with just me, and about 100# more on the right with a person in that seat.

Didn’t;t mean to drag a skeleton out but this is helpful info

I went back and made more adjustments, and got it a bit closer to "perfect" not sure that additional adjustment made much of a difference, though.
I did not change the springs. I might in the future, though, as it is a bit of a harsh ride.
Spring rating and shock adjustments really have no bearing on corner weights.

One obscure tidbit is that ERA uses a different driver side front shock from the passenger side front shock. I don't know if any other folks out there do that, but it's interesting.

Something I didn't notice in these threads, no mention of sway bars. If you have them one end must be unhooked before setting corner weight or ride height. If you don't you are preloading your bar one way or another. Things can get spooky.

Bob- Thanks for the update, and again the post was real helpful. I decided to go fresh all the way around. I ordered my new springs from Iconic today. THey are made for Backdraft and #400 lb rated per Perry who helped me with some other as well.
Totally understand both are not related but will be part of my process and learning.
Speedbrake's car and mine are similar. I got brave and a little bolder and got the rear out tonight with his suggestions taken into consideration.
The Boyton Beach guys came through so thanks to them and Craig Harper.

I thought that too, but having a grand tied up to use once I found a place that i pay for the privilege.
Love to have one but not to pay for it. but they would be nice to have.

They would be nice to have, but it is an expensive item that would not be used often. The best case scenario would be for several people who are in close proximity to each other to split the cost and share the scales.

Ever heard of Ruggles Scales? Old technology, been around the aircraft industry for decades. pretty darned accurate, too.
They are getting difficult to find, since most people want digital now. But they're not hard to make.

... but you still need four bathroom scales capable of going past 600lbs. Or I guess if it's half on half off then a regular scale will do, but that just doesn't seem like it would be all that accurate, but I guess it's better than nothing.

... but I think a good scale costs fifty bucks, and if I call up a race shop and ask them how much to set my corner weights, with me standing there kibitzing, I bet they're going to quote me less than $200 that I would spend in bathroom scales. And I might even make a new friend at the suspension shop each time I said "I think we can do better than that."

Remember to zero out the floor. I use a laser level to get the scales perfect fist. If they’re not set level first the rest means 2/10ths of not much.

No, it works on a lever principle. The scale will read 1/2 or 1/4 tire weight, depending on where you put the pad. They are quite accurate, but a little more tedious than digital. They've been used on small aircraft for decades.
