Parking Brake Problem

Can anyone tell me the correct backing plates to order? Mid 2014 build. I have ordered two sets online that we supposed to be the correct E36 BMW plates but they are not correct. I replaced the parking brake shoes but discovered the backing plates were bent. Tried to straighten them, but they really need to be replaced. Brake does not hold. Thx for any help.

Do you mean the dust shields?

Those can be cut back so you can install them with out removing the axle, hub and bearing.

My original shields were cut back (outer lip removed) by a real hack job. Which caused the parking brake shoes to drag & tilt. Possibly Bigfoot assembled the car it seems.

When you go back together run the shoe adjuster up until you feel drag when installing & removing the rotor over the shoes, then back it off one click.

Thx. I will order these. What you experienced is exactly what my brakes seem to be doing.
