Default Fuel filler removal for powdercoat

If I remove these bolts for fuel filler, what difficulty should I expect putting them back in? I see the bolts are mounted through the body work with studs in the rear fender well. Any advice before I choose to pick my own adventure? Or just paint in place with good taping?

Why are you thinking of painting / powdercoating the fuel filler? To my eye, it looks perfect as-is.

Cheers,
Glen

edit: There shouldn't be any problem removing and refitting the filler cap assembly and not disturbing the paint. There should be a 'rubber' gasket under the mounting flange.

Thanks Glen! I like keeping aluminum polished, but the corrosion from ocean in Hawaii is serious challenge. Still on fence, but planning to powder coat a number of trim pieces black on a otherwise silver and chrome car.

PJ, I'm on the bay in Miami, so I almost feel your pain. Try Blue Magic metal polish cream. It is literally magic, and leaves a silicone protective layer. Got mine at Advance Auto; not cheap, but worth it.
