Clutch fork rubber boot

Does anyone have one on their cars? There is none on my car. The opening in the bell housing allows for me to stick my fingers in and touch the pressure plate and flywheel....along with allowing all other sorts of debris into that area.

Was wondering whether I need to install one.

My car has never had a boot on the clutch arm. It's been 20 years on the road and 52000 miles with no problem. I see a boot as nice to have but not necessary.

When the engine is running there is a hurricane inside the bell housing. The open window only provides an exhaust port for the wind and will help a bit to cool the stuff inside.

Most aftermarket bellhousings don't include one in the purchase although you can buy one for a Lakewood BH - just Google "boot for Lakewood Bellhousing clutch fork". I feel that if you don't drive in a lot in wet or frozen weather or on gravel/dirt roads where crap might get kicked up in there over time, then they don't really serve much purpose.
