Hey Bob! Any updates?
I replaced my lights with LEDs and had some weird issues as well. Not exactly as you described, my taillights and headlights would all go out randomly from time to time. I found that if I drove with my high-beams on, then I never had a problem. I sold the car (biggest regret of my life) before narrowing down the problem but was happy with that temp fix in the meantime.
