I know the power booster is a Porsche part; 83-91 944.

But, what is the master cylinder from?

It looks like this:


Of course, not available from Iconic.

Does anyone know why the mix of 944 booster and Merc 300 master was used over just using the BMW part?

Is it just the lack of a take off port for the brake light pressure switch?
