Unhappy Backdraft price increase

They are increasing the rolling chassis $3,000!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it was to good to last.

What improvement are being made to justify the cost?

Matt: The price increase is due to the exchange rate. We as well as others from South Africa are being forced to increase the price of cars sold here in the US. So our cars will still remain competitivly priced compaired to others.

The exchange rate will swing the other way again at some point, it always does. Then we'll see who lowers their prices. The weak dollar is at least helping reduce the trade deficit somewhat, and, it effectively makes the American manufacturers' prices lower as overseas outfits increase their prices to get more of the weak U.S. dollar in exchange.

I'm curious to know what the connection, if any, between TEAM-C racing VENOM replicas and BACK DRAFT?

The Venom is a "roller" made in South Africa, imported only by Team-C, selling for $24,900 and has BMW suspension.

Just trying to keep track of all the replica builders in South Africa!

All though Team-C is selling some over stock on ebay for $24,900 there WEBSITE clearly shows they are selling for $28,900.

Ah, I see what you mean about the "regular" price!

So, what connection, if any, does VENOM rollers have with Back Draft rollers? Perhaps, no connection at all, they both just happen to use BMW suspension?

I THINK the VENOMS are 92" wheel base. What is the Back Draft?

If memory serves me correct - the Venom people were part of the original start up of Backdraft. A split occurred and now there are 2 different companies. There has been other threads regarding this in the past - try search........

The BDR web site doesn't specify the wheel base length.

Did a search, Boudy (BDR) confirms there was at some point a "link" between the two companies. Since parting ways each product has developed on it's own into what it is now.
