Letters From The Field! (w/time slip)
Well guys, we're back from Tulsa. The Mid-America Meet was great.
Ol' #42 was in rare form. It's timing was off and caused us to run warm all weekend. Now I get to install a timing pointer and tune it up this week. I'm sure we were down 30-40 ponys.
Hallet Motor Racing Circuit was fun and the stock T/A's gave us some pretty good laps in the low 1:31 range. It was a touring show so we couldn't really ring em' out.
Tulsa Raceway Park was where we had the most fun of the weekend. #42 made it's first venture down the strip and did it respectably. We made it to the finals and took 2nd to a big block with slicks and all the other goodies... No shame in getting beat at the tree when your R/T is .172.
The 13.155 isn't bad, but we're going to make more passes after it's tuned up. Then we'll change from the T/As to slicks and see what happens.
Special Thanks to Jay Nordstrom for handling the driving duties at the drags. My R/T would have been a respectible 5 seconds.

We'll the first engine was a 302 that exploded when a poly-loc backed off and the rocker came lose. Now, it's got a 347 Stroker. Scat 9000 crank, Scat Rods, Forged Pistons, and it's balanced. Performer RPM 2.02" heads that are ported and the bowls are blended. It uses a Trick Flow hyd. roller cam. Stage III, the hot one. Air gap intake w/matched ports and a 670 Street Avenger. Tremec 3550, 3.91 gears, and stock tires/wheels. T/A Radials.
She put down 339 HP to the wheels when built. I haven't re-dyno'd it since it's broken in.
