Default BDR-351w with RPM air gap...

Will it fit? Well I guess I should ask if the Vic Jr intake will fit. If that does then the air gap shouldn't be a problem. Any input?

I have an RPM air gap on my 302 BDR and I run a drop based 3inch by 14 KNN. I've seen several 351 cars with vic jrs. I don't think it will be a problem. I think the 302 is 1 inch lower so you may have to run a 2 inch by 14 air cleaner.

Hi there,

With a 351w engine you can still run a Super Vic intake. You need to use a dropped base air cleaner to clear the hood. The standard FMS Oval Cobra air cleaner will also fit but the clearance is tight.

Sid,

I have an Edelbrock Airgap intake on my 351w with a drop base air cleaner and it clears the hood just fine.

Getting air cleaner clearance on any 351W Cobra is a challenge. And, smaller air cleaners, even the Edelbrock oval, cost HP as I learned during dyno testing.

Best compromise was K&N 11" which filters through sides and top. And, as I learned, the filter element on the Edelbrock oval (a K&N), is also an 11", and fits the K&N 11" top, and is slightly taller.
