Question Ford Racing Crate M-6007-A342*

Hello,

I just purchased BDR#202 equiped with the new Ford Racing Crate M-6007-A342*
http://www.fordracingparts.com/crate...smallblock.asp

Is anyone out there running the same motor and if so, any comments? Frank tells me this is a new motor Ford Racing is offering so I don't know if anyone else has one yet. I am going to ship the car to Germany for use during the summer months and was looking for something streetable but still with good punch. Running the standard 3.10 rear end and WC T5.

Thanks in advance,
Let It Be

I don't have that engine, but it's just a stroked 302. It should be a great motor. Have fun,
Tim

Default It's a good Engine

I have the M6007-C347 in my 66 Mustang. It's a great engine and very streetable. Your engine should be almost as strong and just as streetable.

Hey letitbe, Saw your car. The wife wanted to change to your color from the prism red. I talked her out of it. Plus Frank would have had a fit.The next one will be Burrillium though.

I have a very similar set-up. I bought the 342 Ford Racing short block and finished it out with the Edelbrock Performer RPM package. Edelbrock 2.02 heads, cam, 600cfm carb, intake, water pump, timing chain, and a Mallory distributor. I have a WC T5 and 3.45 rear end gearing. The car is a great blend of fast enough and still very streetable. I can hold my own with almost any Cobra on the street and actually enjoy driving it. On the track, I would have a little more trouble hanging with the big dogs. a 418 stroker would make a kick ass track car. I had it dyno'd on a chassis dyno at 332 RWHP and 341 RWTQ. That calculates approx 420 HP at the crank. Believe me, 332 HP where the tires touch pavement is plenty. I have totally useable fun horse power. Some of those monster engines have what I call SCARRY horsepower, a lot of it isn't even useable.
Good luck, you will definitely like it.
