What is the proper tail light for a 65?

My Backdraft has two red tail lights on both sides but I see Amber and red on most other BDRs. Which is correct? What is vintage?

It's almost as if the 428 PI engine showed up in the cars, along with the round LUCAS tailights and lower round reflectors.
The twin upper and lower round taillights (no reflector) are a replica/kit COBRA feature. They are brighter in pairs, the reason used in a few restored originals, you can bet those originals now carry the correct tailights.

The amber/red combo is usually dictated by state inspection requirements. If you can get away with red/red it generally looks better.
