Default Darn I lost 2nd gear

I was really enjoying my BDR driving it almost everyday for the last 3 weeks to work and also a few side trips. Going home Friday night I was pulling away from a light and put it in 2nd and the revs went up and I was thinking you clutch how could you miss a gear like that. I put it in 3rd and kept going. Next stop I tried 2nd and sure thing, nothing. Well it looks like something went funky in the linkage because all the other gears work.

When you put it in 2nd there is no resistance at all, basically no feeling like there is in other gears.

So I am guessing this means pulling the trans to take a look because based on what I have seen there is no way to get to any covers and look in. I have a fairly basic set-up with a 351W and a T5.

But if anyone has any ideas I am interested.

Thanks

John

Whose tranny, Brudda? Stock T5?

Talk to whoever installed your engine/gearbox, nicely.

Get ugly if you need to.

It's your car, you did nothing wrong.

Not sure about a T5, but my TKO has stops for the shifter arm. Maybe the 2nd gear stop was loose and moved forward enough to keep you out of 2nd. Just a thought.

Jefko

Could be. We will start this weekend by draining and see if we get any junk. Then I guess we will pull the trans and start looking. I would rather be driving on a long weekend

I am probably not capable of fixing any thing real bad so I will get somebody to do that part.
