4.6L in a Backdraft?
Does anyone have a 4.6L DOHC 4V #6007-M146 in a Backdraft? This is the engine in 2003 Mach1. Will it fit? This engine sure runs strong/sounds great/not bad on fuel. It just has a different look than other V8's.

There was a red BDR at Custom Cars in Florida I am pretty sure had one installed. It was being serviced when I was visiting there. I didn't talk to the owner. The motor really filled up the engine compartment and looked really cool. Frank Dodd will know more about it. He was hoping to get a couple more engines.

If you do find out a 4.6 DOHC will fit, give us a call and I will hook you up with the guys who are building our 4.6 DOHC for the new display car. They build from the block up and can give you stock injection, stack injection (used in our display car), carb (yes, I said carb), blower or any other combination. The prices are great and the workmanship is top-shelf. We actually offer a 4.6 DOHC / (carb or stock injection) / Tremec 5-Speed drop-in package for $12,900 ready to run and they build it. Let me know, they can probably do better on price than the Ford package.

It fits. There are 2 cars in existance that I know of, and a 3rd in the works A really fun engine to have in the light cars, the 4.6L revs so well and is just starting to get the respect it deserves. If you have owned one you know.

Let's talk. We have wanted to do this project for awhile and you have 2 of the biggest 4.6 fans right here. There's also the option of a 4.6 with a carb, that's another interesting setup.
Lot of work, but you see how those motors spin up.
