Backdraft Owners
Gentlemen,
I need your help. As some of you know I'm a Backdraft Dealer in the Midwest. I have just sold my silver and ghost car #300. I need some help. I can't decide on my color for my next project or my engine combo. I will surely miss #300 because it was 1st ghost but not the last. Alfonso and now James has the only Backdraft with silver and ghost.
I must ask you guys, ok what do I need to build next. Give me your opinion on the best color combo and engine combo, and heck I may just build it. Hint I do like fuel injection!!!
Bill

What about a metalic black and ghost stripe and a 402IR full polished?

I still think sterling grey with silver stripes is the best combination with silver and ghost stripes second.

I like the metallic black idea with ghost stripes. Now change the roll bar, bumpers and side pipes to flat black. That might be a first for a BD? Sounds wicked. How about putting in a 347 stroker with FI or Webers. Nasty high reving small block with lots of power and great sound.
Heck, I might buy that one!

Madmaxx,
I agree with the sterling grey and silver. That combo really is a nice. You don't like the Met Black and met ghost stripe idea? What engine would you like to see in it?

SkipB,
Now you thinking like me. My brother even suggested anodized gold on the wheels and side vents. I think too much bling. What do you think?

I suggest Black with Gold Stripes like the Hertz GT 350. Black interior too.

I really had settled on the silver and ghost stripes until I saw another sterling greay and silver and it just looked better to me, I have never been a big fan of black cars / black interiors in general. I would like 500 hp at the flywheel so maybe a Rousch 402R, dyno sheet is a must. In all honesty I am not a big fan of fuel injection in these cars, carburator with electric choke is my preference, I like to keep it simple. My last one had 315 rwhp and it bored me after 6 months. I question if 500 hp is enough? 17" wheels are a must, the 15" with the BF T/A were to much of a pain to balance and please do not put that silly round mirror in the middle of the dash, use a rectangular one. Side mirrors are not necessary. Half polished wheels, full polish give it to much bling. Not top, or tonneau the snaps look ugly.

Sterling Grey w/silver!
Come on, why even ask! Best combo out there. Bill, people have been coming over non-stop to see the car. I go Tuesday (finally) to get the car registered. Everytime I open the hood I get the same response...WOW!
Congrats and sorry you sold #300. Loved that car.

Chaz,
Thanks, I know that it still is one of my favorite color combos. I will be getting the same engine though. I really liked yours and want one as well. So half of the battle is done... 402IR it is
Get that car on the road already. I know that some states are a little harder and picky than others. Get some pictures near the ocean and submit them here.

Bill,
I am not too sure about the anodized wheels and gold side vents. It may put it over the top on the "blingometer"!
I happen to love black Cobras with black interiors. Most likely because I own one, and also because the very first 427 Cobra I saw was this color combination. A guy at college was given one by his parents (can you imagine doing that today?), and he proceeded to total it within the first month he had it. Daddy then was real smart and bought him a Corvette to replace it. He wrecked that within about 90 days, and I never saw the guy again, at school or anywhere else!
Someone also had a really nasty looking all black Cobra at the vintage races in Coronado a couple of years ago. That really left an impression on me as it blew by the competition on the front straight. Wow!

Bill, I agree w/ SkipB....Black/ Maybe Red Stripes/Black interior....I still want to see a BDR w/514/625 w/ Mass Flo or dual 4-barrels. A/C Heat and Hard Top. 17" Wheels and extra wide tires! Snakester

Snakester,
I will do the 514 or a 557 soon, I don't know when though. I would like to do a FE all aluminum 427/468ci first. Maybe with TWM injection. What do you think of this? Does this interest you? I still like my 402IR idea best. The majority rules on this one.

Bill, I know it is really hard to beat the Small Block, Not only the $$$$ but, the weight. I think when I do get a new BDR, I will go with another 392 or maybe the 408 w/ F.I. I saw a FFR last Sat.w/4.6...I like the engine , but not the look!!! Snakester
