Default Insurance for cobra

I'm having a hard time finding insurance here in Hawaii. Can anyone help? Also what is a fair rate to pay. Have quotes from statefarm and progressive at $2500 and $1300 which I know is overpriced.Car cost $50,000 with engine and options.

Try Anpac @ www.anpac.com. They insure replicas, rods, etc. Must not be daily driver but they alllow 10,000 miles/year. Stated value.

392Cobra

At $147 a year I would really check out the fine print.

I understand what your saying.

I'm with ANPAC.I have all four of my cars with them. All have full coverage,3 are under the Classic car policy. The fourth is my daily driver,WRX STi,it runs $ 827 a year.
At first I just had my LSC with them and it was higher - for sure.
More cars- better price break.

There are a lot of us (Cobra owners) here that have their insurance.
Our agent is a Cobra owner as well.

Your advise is good.

Default insurance

Do you guys register the car as a 1965 or as a 2006? When you talk with the insurance company will they know what to register it as? Thanks for any help. Some of these co.'s don't know what a repli-car is so should I just say a '65 cobra and leave it at that?

hawaii... Just tell them what you have . If you have bill of sale or other dox to show value, they may ask for them. They might want photos of car, also. Do you have another car/daily driver? Anpac has a program called "CHROME" for rods, replicas, custom.

hawaiicobra,

Have you registered your Cobra in Hawaii yet? What island/county do you
live on? Islands other than Oahu don't care if it is a replicar and will register
it as such, until recently you couldn't register a replicar of a car newer than
1949, now it is, I believe, 1968 so you are ok there. If you have papers
from the prior registration as a 1965 try that first, they may just go with it.
Insurance is another story in itself. I got lucky with Grundy 6 years ago
but my understanding is they aren't writing any new policies.
Come on out to Wendy's at Kapolei this Saturday evening (5 - 9 pm) where
they have the monthly cruise-in and you can meet some of us Cobra guys
who have been through the process and can hopefully help you (if you are
on Oahu).
