Got the Blues...
What's up, everyone wants blues these days? Is BLUE "THE" color for a Cobra or what?
In and out of here recently:
BDR#358 - Speedway Blue with White Stripes
BDR#361 - Interlagos Blue with White Stripes
BDR#426 - Speedway Blue with White Stripes
BDR#428 - Royal Blue with White Stripes/Rondells and Red Rookie Stripe
Have 3 other pending orders that the customers are deciding what BLUE they like. Broke the streak today with a Titanium order though...
If anyone wants to help me out and order a Prowler Orange or Black or something give me a ring, I'll give you a deal to get some variety in here

Jay, bear with me, this is a rehash of what I posted over 2 years ago...
I was 18 years old, running the California highways in my Oldsmobile south towards LA at 80+ looking for CHP in my rear-view, when something flew by me.
Doing ... well over the speed limit. A little bitty blue car, looked kinda Brit or Euro. The driver was actually wearing a white scarf! I was 18, I knew the sound of a V8, that dinky little blue car had a V8!
I did the research, and looking back, it HAD to have been one of Carroll Shelby's Cobras.
That was 1969.
This sounds stupid, but it's true- I knew, then, that someday I would have one.
Gunrack, BDR #139, is Indigo blue with white stripes, the way God intended.
I waited 35 years, then ordered my obsession from BackDraft with dual rollbars so she would be easy to find in a parking lot full of blue/white Cobras.
Roll with the flow, Jay.
You want I should take over your marketing?
Look what happened when Coca-Cola tried the "New" Coke.
It seems that American Cobra enthusiasts want deep, metallic blue cars with white stripes.
My hand goes up first, now you at least know why.
Half in jest, but true, my friend.

original Le Mans blue
While we're on the subject, which modern auto color most resembles the original Le Mans blue? Also, I've noticed that the cars I'm seeing around have a lot of metallic like the Indigo blue from GM. Which medium/dark blues might I find without the metallic?

UT,
You are correct, it probably is the way God or maybe Carroll Shelby intended it. No problem, I love the blues too... just looks like the ocean in the shop with big blue waves and some white crests
So a Titanium order just busted the streak, and talking to others that are keen to Silver ... so now we have another "problem".
All in fun.

A Fantastic little color gallery is available at: http://allthingscobra.tripod.com/pai...galleries.html
The Rolls Royce Royal Blues have a very fine/mild metallic if that helps.

Ox ford guy- so you are a Snowbird, eh?
You need a second BDR to keep your Cobra trailering/transport costs down!
#140 summer, #139 winter... get the picture? (hint)
New pic uploaded to my gallery, obviously I am obsessed with small, dark metallic blue automobiles.
When we get our first ice storm here in Oklahoma I will think of you and smile.

Uncltodd.....Two Cobras, one in each place, would be nice ,but, once retired, finances only go so far.
The snow will be here soon up here in Connecticut, then Snowbirding is the only way to fly..ox_ford_guy

Were any of the originals Black? Personally, I think it suits the car's personality, but I may be prejudice.

Black has to be the most beautiful of all car colours IMHO, but I never had one and never will.
The tiniest flaw in the finish or bodywork sticks out like a terd in a punchbowl, and besides, I'd have to stop every 10 minutes or so and carefully tease the dust off!

Just to interject here on Bills post. Yes, there were Black original Cobras and some even had a white stripe.
