Inspection approved!!!!
My BDR has passed Motor Vehicle Department inspection, in a few days I will obtain antique plates!
My conversation with inspector:
Insp: Oh! what a beautiful car.........It's a Superformance or a Backdraft? (incredible....isn't it?)
Me: Turning my face to green colour! ....hummm..... It's a BDR
Insp: This is a new car! (here I thought....sh--t!)
Me: Ejem! Yes its new but made under original specs.....only minor modifications to increase safety..its almost a classic!
(half an hour measurig it and looking for engine number....(not found))
Insp: Ok! I know that vehicle is new but we can title it as antique because is a exclusive vehicle and our law allow to title it "as is" if we consideer its exclusiveness!
Me: With a smile arising and reppresing my intention to embrace inspector..... thanks!
Insp: In a few days, after you send us engine number, you will receive documentation to inscribe it in "historic register" and to obtain antique plates....
So guys ,...... you can imagine my hapiness!! Only remains to find engine number location.....it's a 302 (M-6007-XB3).....do you know were is stamped?
Cheers!
Alfonso

And you get your license back when?
Sorry Alfonso - couldn't resist that
Great News !!! Oh man if only it was that easy everywhere here. Some places it is, some it isn't.
An Inspector who knew what he was looking at, recognized style when he saw it, and applied the spirit of the law so that everyone is happy.
Did you manage to take him for a ride?
Enjoy the drive Alfonso - enjoy the drive !!!

Mucho congrads Senor!!
Much fun in store for you!!
The engine number should be located by the starter. You have to be under to BDR to see it!!

What's really embarasssing while 'garage driving' is missing a gear
Alfonso - there are several Cobras in San Fran, I know of at least 1 Kirkham.
I'll see if I can get you a contact number for him at least if you'd like.

Thanks Doug! It could be really funny to interchange oppinions...one guy talking about his car, handling, driving impresions, etc and me talking about my impressions running around my car! Ha, Ha
Cheers

Hello Alfonso,
Not sure what day you arrive in the San Francisco area, but if you will be in town tomorrow (10/21) you'd be welcome to join a Cobra breakfast. Here is a link to a thread about the "west bay" breakfast in Mountain View.
Baji's
There is also one in Dublin that happens every saturday. Have some fun while your out here.
