At last titled and at last my first ride!
Hi guys today I've received my temporal plates, I must to wait for definitive antique plates but I'm allowed to run the car. I had only time to ride it 10 miles, the feeling is "rare".... I 've only run it under 4k rpm but it seems a little bit powerless..... I have not experienced the acceleration sensation that you have mentioned, even it seems impossible to spin wheels only by gas once the car is moving (I was afraid that car was difficoult to drive) is a very docile car (It's only a 302-345 bhp). When I was coming back to home the orange light turned on permanently (the override funs were switched off)....it's normal? (water temp 80ēC, ambient 14ēC., oil temp in the lowest position) Perhaps my sensation was due to a cold engine, running under 4k rpm, or only that was my first trip! Keep you posted. The steering seems a little bit loosen over 50 miles/hour
Cheers
Alfonso

Alfonso,
Glad to hear you are on the road with your license!
The orange light is the fans coming on (thermostatically controlled) it is a good thing to see it come on periodically instead of never or all the time.
That car scoots pretty good, you might need to get used to it. But you really need to take it easy for break-in. Let it warm up good before getting into it. The real fun with a 302 is over 4k RPM... but you need to let it work in (500 miles) before doing that.
Get us some photos!

On the steering... these are very light cars. The steering is quick, it's not your daily driver. Often I see new drivers "wandering" in them, until they develop a sense for the steering / handling of the car.

Alfonso,
Glad to hear that you are out there .
Like Jay says, the small blocks don't really come alive until higher revs. Take it easy, and break that baby in right. Don't worry, once the engine is broken in and you are able to get on the loud pedal, you will get this expression all right:
Just watch out for the police when you do.
Many fun safe miles to you buddy!
Cheers!
Dave

Hey Alfonso, Glad to see you can finally drive your Cobra! The best thing about these cars is you have to drive...No cruise control...No power steering...just you and the car.The 302/345 will be lots of fun after the break in is over...I have @4,000 miles on mine and it runs better and better every time I drive it.I live in a small town and after a year now the Police leave me alone...I guess they have all seen it by now!
