I spent about an hour yesterday touring BDR in Boynton Beach with Craig. Super nice people everywhere you turned!! VERY BUSY, very clean shop, excellent quality in everything I saw. Backdraft Cobras everywhere and all of them sold, on their way to customers upon completion. Couple of them in a new Cranberry color. A new stack of them had just been offloaded at the docks. He said they are sold out through July and the orders keep coming. Craig said they now can provide 15" and 17" pin drive knockoffs with their cars. Also something about a GT-40 on the way.

Try Team III Wheels, I think they're in San Leandro, CA. I have a set and have been very pleased with them.

Interesting....anyone from Backdraft care to chime in on this? If it is true, can we start purchasing the wheels now? Are we limited to the E36 brakes witht he 15" wheels?

If you can get those dimensions, PM me and I'll get you his number.

Thanks Brian...depending upon what BDR says, I may end up going that route.

Call Vintage Wheels in California and ask Bob Lacey what they can do. I bought them for my ERA and ERA had to machine the rears to fit the large Wilwood racing brakes. Bob said there "is a lot" of material for machining. Good Luck (they are good looking wheels). RD

Guys...I just spoke to BackDraft down in Florida, and they just received 15" Knock-Off Wheels!
The entire kit, 4 wheels, adapters, spinners, cost $1,900.
Still waiting on some pictures.

Which Wheel looks better? (not the center hub, but the wheel)
The one on top is the Vintage Wheel...retailing at $1,795 for four.
The one below is the BackDraft Wheel...retailing at $1,900 for four.

Hard to really judge from the photos...but IMO the Vintage wheel looks better at least on the cranberry colored car.

Jay,
I forgot to ask about the tires...it looks like BD has a new supplier.
Any 411 on the new rubber?

The tire selection in the 15" flavors has come down to what is available at the moment. BFG is backordered for months so they are out. Of the few available tires on the market in these sizes the Coopers have been selected at the moment, it does not hurt either that they have a great name.

Don't forget - the two wheels in the picture above are different - different widths and different offsets. The center section of the maroon car is inset less.
