Can't the end going to the fork be a long piece of threaded rod. The heim joint at the other end will allow movement up and down and side to side. The longer the threaded rod, the less movement you'll have at the heim end. We mounted the heim end to the frame, and even with the movement from the engine rocking when torqued, there is minimal movement at the heim end due to the overall length of the slave/rod assembly.
