Keith Craft 427W FI
The engine has arrived. I was only able to unpack it once the wife went to bed, hence the dark picture. The FedEx slip said it weights 750 pounds!!! Yeah that includes the shipping box, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, fuel pump, wiring harness, starter, and EFI stuff...but 750 lbs!! I'm goingot have to put it on a scale to find out but I was thinking under 500lbs. And no the FedEx guy was not happy having to push it up the driveway.
T-56 is also here. What type of tranny mount works best for the BDR a 2 bolt of 4 bolt?
Weather in San Diego today was low 70's so the sooner it is together...let the drive'n begin.
what is the trick to getting a good picture attached? the little one attached sucks

Rwillia4,
You need to upload the picture to your gallery. Once it is there you can copy the link to the clip board, then paste the img to your post. It really seems complicated until you do it once or twice.
Nice looking motor, we have a 427IR coming in from Roush today or sometime this week. Have you installed these before? The wiring harness isn't too hard to figure out but take your time to do it right. I usually cut the hole behind the motor but far up enough so you don't see the harness for the inside of the cockpit. Good luck and the motor looks great.

So would I...still waiting for the paperwork in the mail!! What did KC do for you? AFR 205 heads? I have the 225's b/c he was "out" of the 205's. I could see this as the major difference. You have a substaintialy higher peak HP for the "same" engine. I wonder what the differences are? I asked for a streetable engine, I'm not sure if they made any changes (cam, timing,..). I'm itching to see the dyno slip to see if is is realitively flat over a large RPM range. ...snail-mail you gotta love it!

Rwillia4,
I got the 225 heads too. My cam if fairly wild, but it idles at 1100 and its happy running at anything over 1900 rpm. I was disappointed that the dyno sheet started at 5000 rpm. I would have liked to seen it start at 3000 rpm. My cam is a Comp Cam with a lift of 576 on both intake and exhaust. the duration is 252 intake and 262 exhaust. I'm not sure what all that means, but it sounds awesome. You can go to my web site "http://www.venoms1.com" , then go to spec's for detail on my motor and the last page is my dyno sheet. It will be interesting to do a comparison

Rwillia4,
Wow, great engine. I am also in San Diego and would love to see your car, even before you put the engine in it. Where are you located? Are you building it yourself? Just curious and anxious to meet another Backdraft guy. Have we met before?

SkipB you have a PM
nblumberg- I called KC and asked for an engine to be "adjusted" from the 427ci package 2 to -carbs +TWM with FAST XFI control. He and Tony was very willing to do what I wanted, (it is all about money ). If you need more specifices let me know or give KC a call.

Poolw,
I'll have to go look at the cam box to see what is stuffed in there. Our engines seem the same except carb/FI change. I will post the dyno sheet when I get it.

Rwillia4,
I am also in San Diego and would love to see the car. If you need any local help just holler. Another local car has a KC 514 with the TWM/FAST setup so if you need any help doing the final tune he can certainly help.

xlr8or,
I saw a big block with TWM/Fast in a blue Superformace on Sunday morning at IKEA. It had a big crack in the windsheild probably from the torque twisting the frame... Looked nice.
