Backdraft Gas/Accelerator Pedal Modification
Jay mentioned quite a few people comment on the lack of an ornamental gas pedal on the BDRs. As minor as it seems, I didn't like it, so I changed it!
Original pedals:
After:
While not perfect because of the visible bolt heads, I like it better than before.
I bought these: http://www.finishlineaccessories.com...roducts_id=208, hacked off the lump on the back with an air cutoff wheel to make it flush and bolted with washers to the existing pedal. No modification was needed to the existing pedal nor did it need to be removed. Only bad part is these come as a set of 2....I only needed 1. It's also very light so I don't think a stiffer throttle return spring will be necessary.
What do you guys think? Obviously not noticable when you're in the car, but visible from outside the car...

Eric,
It looks great. The only thing I would worry about is foot clearance. I find the footbox pretty small and I don't have very wide feet. Any problems with adding some width to the pedal?

I've only driven it twice for short trips since I added it (because it's 23 degrees here) - doesn't seem to cause any clearance issues...and I have big size 12 feet!

Eric,
I like it a LOT. Thanks for helping me spend some more money.
Cheers!
Dave

Make a deal with you 6t8stang, you lump off the hump on the other pedal and send it too me, and I will send you a check for the cost of both pedals! Interested?
