Toggle Switch Covers
If your looking for an inexpensive upgrade that really make's your dash a little sharper ask Jay at Vintage for his TOGGLE SWITCH covers. They come in different colors and Chrome. I'm sure he can post a picture online.

Joe,
Did you get them installed? Easy little switch that adds some eye candy. I'm going to have to open the online store for biz to everyone soon, just stocking up on the big items.

Hi Jay.
Took about 15 minutes to install all three.
Looks like a cockpit of a F-22 Raptor fighter now.

Quick photo of the dash of ERA 684 with toggle switch covers. The yellow next to the steering wheel is for the Accusump, the red next to the steering wheel is the starter. The red Eject switch on the passenger's side is for my wife who complained that I didn't care about her safety because she didn't have a roll bar. When I put the switch in I told her that if things looked really bad and her life started to flash before her eyes to wait until she got to about 14 and then hit the switch.

As a retired Air Force pilot, I've flown lots of aircraft with safety covered toggle switches. In general, the red covers were used to quickly identify and close switches that might need immediate attention in an emergency. With that in mind, I covered my ignition and fuel pump switches. If things go bad and I need to kill the engine and the fuel pump quickly, I can slap the covers down to close the switches.

Jay,
Do these covers allow the switch to be toggled in either position with the cover down?

Jay -
The covers I am familiar with allow the switch to be in any position while the cover is open. When the cover is closed, it forces the switch to move to one position. The whole point of the cover is to give the operator a quick and easy way to determine that important switches are in the desired position.
P.S.
They do sell a toggle switch guard intended to prevent inadvertent activation of a switch and it allows the switch to be in any position. Here's a link to a site that sells them: Click here.
