When I fist ordered this car, there were not any dealers here in Texas. I looked around for quite awhile before deciding on a dealer. What I saw and read about Vintage, as well as how Jay interacted with people on this forum, had me leaning in his direction. I also went to Vintage and met with Jay. That visit sealed the deal in my mind.
I will have to have the car shipped, as it will not be registered. I thought about buying a trailer and driving out and and pick it up, but it would cost too much for the trailer and trip from Texas. I am not sure what shipping will cost, but know it will be thousands less than the alternitive.
I know that Jay will support me after the sale. If I need something done to the car, I am sure I could take it to Huston to the new Backdraft Dealer there and they will take care of it.
That video is only the tip of the iceberg. Really, 2nd is alot more fun. And third, well, that's third.
My wife said today, after logging around 1200 miles in the last 4 weeks, that she almost crapped her pants when I decided to do 20-100 on Skyline (near SF). I'm amazed at how easy it is to cruise these cars, yet blown away when it's GO time.......We were talking about a name for her and decided "Oh my god, I almost crapped my pants" wasn't a good name....
I was going up a small hill in SF the other day and decided to get into it, the front tires about came off the ground (3.73 with LSD). I was a unique experience.
Wishing ya all the same. Jay did a great job on mine and I'm sure you will love yours. The time between the vids being posted and the truck getting to Vintage/delivery were some of the worst in recent memory.
