New pipes have flanges and are not slip on so that will require mods to your headers on 168. They sound quieter if you ask me. When older cars come in we notice it moving them around the shop...

The older pipes did seem to have a bigger diameter on the body and turnout though.

Does my car #874 have the older or newer style exhausts?

It sounds nice and has enough power for me.

The engine is a 427 Roush SR with 515 HP.

How can I tell about my exhaust on #874?

Will I have to disassemble something?

Thanks,

Russell

Slide Show for album :: Backdraft #874

Can anybody tell about this one having old or new exhausts?

Thanks,

Russell

Russ, They look like mine, 687 with old pipes, but that may not mean anything. An easy way to tell would be to run a scope into the rear of the pipes. If its the old style you'll see the flat disc with 2 small pipes sticking out of it.
