Default Fuel Pump Question

Would anyone here know how many Gallon Per Hour output the Carter fuel pump is rated at, that BDR is using? My engine and such was done by Speed Fanatix in Florida and I can't seem to find a phone number for them.
I do not see a part number on the pump so I cannot look it up. The pump has a gold top if that means anything as to what model it is.

Thanks!

Mark,

Does your fuel system have a fuel regulator? If it doesn't it should be 6-7psi max.

Mark,

Most likely it is 72gph on free flow.

Hi Bill,

I am not sure if it has a regulator or not. Will have to check. Can 72GPH at 7PSI support mid 500HP level? Last time on the dyno, my A/F ratio was perfect but I think the pump was about maxed out. I think with the new sidepipes I had better upgrade the pump before I tune it again.

I think your OK Mark.
I'm sure there is some one out there that could give all the data on brake specific fuel consuption per engine and horsepower leval but here is the laymans (my) method of calculating.
If you going 60 MPH in your car your probably getting about 10 MPG. This translates to one mile per minute or ten minutes to burn one gal of fuel. Your pump will put out 72 GPH which is 1.2 GPM, 10 min = 12 gallons in that 10 minutes, no problem. If you were going 120 MPH, now you would probably only be getting 4 MPG. This is 2 miles per minute and it would only take 2 minutes to burn one gal of fuel. In 2 minutes your pump will still keep up as it would put out 2.4 gallons in that 2 minutes so your still well within the pumps capacity.
Now if your going 150 MPH and..........................
