Have you checked to see if you have a good ground from the engine to the frame? I would be surprised if this was the problem but we might as well start at step 1.

Got tired of dead batteries and dim lights, mine was delivered with an O'Reilly's alternator, after the second replacement I coughed up for an Autolite from my Ford dealer. No problems since, but SPENDY!

I wanted to thank all of you for your help and special thanks to Mike Mueller from Portland for going to the shop with me yesterday to get to the bottom of the problem. It turns out that the alt pulley was slipping and not spinning enough to generate a charge. When the tension pulley was pulled tight manually, the alternator started to charge the battery. With Mike's help, I have ordered a standard rotation water pump kit to bypass the tension pulley and do away with the serpentine belt. I ordered the kit and hope to get it by the end of the week.

This is a great support group and I appreciate all the advice.

Thanks all,

Tuan
