Suspension squeak
I had my car in Bob Butler's custom exhaust shop in San Diego to replace the slip joint header/sidepipes with a flange set up. The exhaust work is great, and I highly recommend Bob's work if you are in the San Diego area.
But, I have developed a really bad suspension squeak in the right rear. It could be from having the car jacked up instead of on a lift, or something else, but it is driving me nuts. It sounds like something is dry and squeaks on any bump in the road. Flat, smooth road, no sound.
Any ideas what is making this noise? Then any ideas on getting rid of it? I shot a little WD40 (I know, not the best idea) in a couple of suspect areas for a quick fix, but nothing has changed. I don't have a floor jack or way to lift the car at present, so I am hoping for an easy fix.

I would also check the rear springs. I think a common problem is that the rear springs rub in the spring perch on some BDR's. From what I understand, the fix is either new springs with new diameter of coils or just rotating the stock spring a little. Should be easy to check for this condition. Jack the car up and check the rear spring for wear marks around the perch. Mine has the same problem but I have been to lazy to fix it. Winter to-do list...

Mine squeaked for a couple years til i found it-right rear shock was not real tight. Also use WD-40 on all area's a couple times a season.

ditto to what you did and what smoking cobra said ; WD-40. I do it a couple times a season on my 3 toy cars as squeaks develop : bushings etc . Works for me . Bill

Skip,
What area of town are you in? You can use my floor jack and stands if needed. I'm near Mt Helix. Use a silicon based spray it last longer and won't chew on rubber parts or paint.
